According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (via Metro), Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Jorrel Hato and are preparing a move in the upcoming transfer window. The North Londoners are looking to add some new players to their squad and have identified the Dutch youngster as one of their top targets this summer.

The fight for the Premier League went down till the last match-week this campaign and the Gunners were one of the prime contenders. The North London side performed brilliantly this season, but they missed out on winning the league title by only two points.

Under manager Mikel Arteta’s supervision, the team has done very well but it was not enough to lift the Premier League trophy, losing out to Man City once again. Therefore, the North Londoners have decided to bring in some new and young talent to back Arteta and assist him in winning the league title next season.

Although the Gunners have great young talents in their youth team, they don’t want to miss out on any chance to add potential talents to their set-up. Arsenal have been tracking Jorrel Hato for a long time and want him at the Emirates this summer.

Italian transfer guru Romano said on the Here We Go podcast:

“Arsenal are also working on their future, they have many wonderkids in their academy but there is a player they’re after and he’s playing at Ajax, he’s a centre-back and it’s Jorrel Hato.

The Gunners have tracked him multiple times, they believe he is a top, top centre back in terms of potential, so keep an eye on Arsenal. They are still pushing on Hato and they believe they are frontrunners in the race to sign him.

Let’s see if they can make it happen this summer, or has to be in the future, but Hato remains one of the priority names on Arsenal’s list.”

The youngster just played his first full season for the Ajax senior team, but he has already established himself as a first-team regular. His impressive displays earned him a new contract at the Eredivisie side till 2028. He also received his first national team call-up for the Netherlands in November 2023.

Despite his young age, the defender is technically sound and possesses great skills and good speed. So, without a doubt, he will be a great asset for the club. Meanwhile, moving to the Emirates will provide him a bigger stage and better infrastructure for development and career growth

Besides the positives for self-improvement, the progress of Arsenal in the last two seasons developing into title contenders certainly renders an enticing prospect for Jorrel Hato. However, the major question is how Ajax perceives the deal and whether they will let their defender leave.
